New Curriculum 101: Yoga, Music and Art

Studying doesn’t always mean being glued to the desk or stuck in the library. As the world gradually becomes our classroom, activities that are held outside the school setting may in fact, be the most effective ones. Studies have shown that experiential, hands-on programmes allow children to interact with others, spark their creativity and think outside the box. Before the little ones run free during the upcoming school holidays and year-end festivities, here are our top 7 edutainment spaces that allow them to ignite their creativity while having a ball of a time.

Play to Learn, Learn through Play with Kiztopia

Indoor driving school, role play rooms, augmented reality (AR) studios packed with arts and sports – what’s not to love? Spanning 18,000 sq ft with 18 play concepts, Kiztopia park could be the next play and learn haven for the kids. Interestingly, the space was designed to encourage children to freely explore where they will gain diversity in physical, emotional, cognitional and social development, fostering each individual’s unique strengths. The endless fun-filled play area also welcomes parents to work together as a team with their kids and develop a strong family bond. If you need a play break, hop on over to Bell’s Pantry, a cosy café housed within the playground, and choose from delectable bites such as Corn Dogs and Baked Cheese & Meat wraps. Stay tuned for an exciting programme line-up that also enhances useful skills such as cooking, creating artworks, building robots and more!

Clash of Cold Steel at Modern Fencing Academy

Did you know that the tip of the fencing weapon is the second fastest moving object in sport, after the marksman’s bullet? Or that several ballet positions were in fact derived from fencing? While fencing has been around since the 18th century, many of us know little about this esteemed activity. At Singapore’s leading international fencing club Modern Fencing Academy, renowned coaches offer beginner and elite programmes for both kids and adults, which teach the importance that defeats and failures are only temporary. Both newcomers and the skilled are welcome, to experience first-hand the clash of cold steel, the thrill of duelling and the unbeatable feeling of victory.

Bounce, Kick and Flip Your Way Through The Little Gym

Research and hands-on experience have taught us that teaching motor skills to kids helps them build confidence to do their best at home, at play and in the classroom. Need to channel your child’s energy more productively? Book a gymnastics class to spring from cartwheels to confidence. Not the sporty type? The sports sessions do more than teach coordination – it helps your child gain the critical understanding of teamwork and sportsmanship. At The Little Gym, the professionally developed curriculum allows your children grow, one somersault at a time.
