Discover a Wow Wild World as Marina Square celebrates World Environment Day (5th June) and World Ocean Day (8th June) with an educational oceanic wonderland and a plethora of engaging activities.
SOS: Save our Seas Sustainability Installation
Central Atrium, 26 May - 11 June 2023
Step into Marina Square’s Central Atrium and behold the majestic 3D sculptures of endangered ocean animals. Taking centre stage is an awe-inspiring sculpture of a magnificent whale measuring 8 metres long and other life-sized marine animals such as the shark, dolphin, turtle, seal, polar bears and a waddle of penguins. Made with eco-friendly cardboard, these amazingly intricate cardboard creations bring the sculptures to life.
The sustainability installation is a joint project by Marina Square and Singapore Polytechnic.
My Pledge: Beat Plastic Pollution
Commit to adopting a sustainable lifestyle and do our part to protect the environment by reducing plastic consumption. The first 700 shoppers who take up a pledge by taking a photo at the booth will also receive a mini whale cardboard DIY sculpture set. The next 500 shoppers will receive a eco-themed badge, while stocks last basis.

Enjoy an immersive 3D augmented reality experience through a combination of real-world and digital content. Centered around a dynamic, ever-changing watering hole, the AR experience enables you to meet a diverse range of animals as they graze, drink, and interact with the environment around them.
Upcycling Workshops
Learn how to Reuse & Recycle!
Join our workshops to learn how to use commonly disposed items to recreate usable ones. Each participant will also be given a goodie bag comprising a plush or key chain, snacks and a mini DIY cupboard whale.

Broken Made Whole: Sustainable Coaster Workshop by Chokmah (For Adult & Child Team)
27 May, 4 June or 11 June, 3pm – 4.30pm (Central Atrium)
Learn how to make a beautiful coaster using eco-friendly Jesmonite and design it in any colours you want! Discover the amazing properties of Jesmonite followed by Chokmah's special upcycling process and casting techniques. Each team will bring home one upcycled coaster and a goodie bag.

Paper Carton Upcycling Workshop (For Adult + Child Team)
28 May or 3 June, 3pm – 4pm (Central Atrium)
Recycle and reuse paper cartons before they become trash! Learn how to breathe new life into paper cartons and turn them into a multi-holder to store your stuff. Each team will also bring home a goodie bag.

Recycling Food Waste: Orange Peels Workshop (For Adults)
10 June, 3pm – 4pm (Central Atrium)
Love eating oranges as much as we do and not too sure what to do with the peels after eating them? Learn how to transform orange peels into eco-enzymes and a zesty body scrub! Participants are required to bring along your own reusable container (1x 500ml, 1x 50ml small jar). Each participant will bring home a goodie bag.

Kids Activities: Ocean themed Arts & Crafts

Little ones can enjoy fun and free colouring and making popsicle stick ocean themed puppets. Complete the colouring and receive an eco-themed badge, while stocks last.
